  8. Wow, I saw you mature throughout this whole experience. God Bless You. You took on a challenge and you are going to reach that goal. When are you coming through the West Covina - Rt 10 area..in Los Angeles. I would love to meet you and support you... Thank you for all you do...

  9. Zach,

    I live in Delaware and just heard about your inspiring story from my parents. They met you yesterday near Parker, AZ. They were so imressed at how mature you are and enjoyed meeting you very much. I shared your story with my 6yr old daughter who is now trying to figure out how she can make a difference. Thanks for reminding us all that even a young person can change the world. Keepup the great job because you're almost there! We're sending prayers your way for a speedy and safe arrival in California. God Bless you, Zach.

  10. You have everything to finish strong. I will be teaching a seventh grade current events class, and you are going to be our first event to cover. Is there any way you can come to Coweta, OK on your way home to Tampa. What an inspiration you would be to so many of the students in our district.

  11. Zack you and your mom are an amazing people!

  12. Zach, I saw your story on NBC and was immediately touched. What a great job you are doing to bring awarness to those who can't afford to speak up. I just wish we could have donated a bit more than we did. Keep on Truckin!

  13. Zach, my wife Lyn and I saw your RV parked at Viewpoint RV Resort this morning where we are parked for a few weeks. It brightened our day! You and your mom are being an inspiration to more souls than you can imagine. We applaud you and your mom's commitment and conviction to make a positive difference in the world. I left you both a few of gifts that I thought you would enjoy - my book and audiobook about the Cycling 4 Peace journey that we took in 2002. I hope that you too will write a book about your adventures. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Many blessings on your journey, Ray

    Zach hang in there. It must be really tough right now but I know you can do it. Take Care

  15. Zach;

    Your "Life" blog is wonderful. Thanks for putting in writing what we already know about you - you are dedicated, open, honest, and determined. Your critics (I am amazed there can be any) are way off base. Your cause is a great one and you are a Great spokesman for it. Keep your head up and your feet moving - one step at a time.

    We are behind you every step and every state of the way.

  16. Oh ~ and yes ~ I forgot... I'm in Seattle, WA (USA)

  17. To Zach, a future Prosecuting Attorney and shining example for all of us - young and old - to follow. You may be young but you are far wiser than most people three times your age.

    ”I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble” – Helen Keller

    You are accomplishing great and noble things one small step at a time ~ and each step you take moves you that much closer to your goal. Never forget where your true passion is ~ deep inside your heart. Hold onto it and it will sustain you through all the rough storms in life and remember one thing... Helen was someone who couldn't see or hear but she somehow managed to communicate with others and leave an amazing legacy behind. She touched others with her heart, like you are now.

    I feel honored and blessed to be one of your followers and virtual friends in Twitter. I hope one day we can share a hug and a smile too.

    ~ Leilani

  18. As adults we can get lost in trying to think to hard on how to make a real difference. Sometimes it takes the heart of a child to remind us that by putting one foot in front of the other and just doing it instead of thinking about it we can move mountains. Thanks Zach for taking that step. We are watching you from up here in Canada cheering you on.

  19. Zach, I came across your storey on AOL and you have inspired me to do more. I own the largest NFL store in I I own a store called THE NFL MAN and we are in Odessa,TX. I would like to hook you up with any NFL or college merchandise that you might want and then you can tell me how I can help your kids. Sometimes it takes a kid like you to touch our hearts and inspire us to do more. Keep up the great work and may God bless you on your journey.

  20. you know sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands...and sometimes higher up people will try to stop you..I am proud of you .....

    I decided to see how many coats I could collect. I wanted them for the children all over the world right into Afghanistan .I freind of mine who ownd a radio station Hooked me up with this guy who owned a cargo plane.I cant tell you where but you would laugh to know where this plan was.this guy with the plan said all I had to do was pay for the gas.and he didnt care where I wanted him to fly an drop the coats he would do it..I got all excited,thinking yes .kids are going to be safe an warm this winter.then I got a letter saying I also had to ask the president for clarance to the LA { Katrina} and Afghan.I waited for months I got no responce.I eneded up giving coat to people right here that in my heart I KNEW HAD COATS BUT THEY STILL TOOK THEM..I had to call my friend with the plain ..I had to call the radio. But next time I am going to just do it..just like you. I am an adult trying to fallow rules...and here you are just doing it what your heart says ,,,wtg..

  21. What an amazing young man you are to have done so much for so many. Not many adults would do what you have done, and it is truly an inspiration. You have brought tears to my eyes today, and warmed my heart. I can only pray that my 10 month old son will one day want to do something to help others. Thank you for being an leader and an inspiration to all, young and old.

  22. I just heard about your story through AOL news. I think it is amazing someone your age doing this. It is incredible and inspiring. I wish more kids & adults were like you. Thank you for caring. :)

  23. I just followed a link from an article about Michael Guillen, Patrick Sheane Duncan and David Anspaugh bringing your story to life. I had not heard about you and all the miracles you are creating until today. I think it will be a gift to all of us to know and be inspired by your story. Thank you for following your heart, the ripple effects of your actions are endless. I can't wait to see what you are doing when you're 16! God Bless from Boston!!

  24. Wow, I wish there were more children in the world like you... You are wise for your age. Don't worry about blogging, you have more important things to do... I just can't believe you have walked that far - congratulations and THANK YOU... God Bless...

  25. Big Springs to Midland will be VERY boring. It is very flat and nothing but cows and tumbleweeds. Plan to spend a little time in Monahans and go to the sand dunes there. It's a sight to see sand dunes so far from the sea.

  26. Keep on Keeping on Zach! You continue to inspire a growing multitude of "Zach Followers" and are an inspiration to all of us.

    Nancie and I keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

  27. Zach;

    What a great comment you made on being homesick. The homeless miss that feeling - or rather don't experience it. You are so Right On!

    Coming up: The Big "D."

  28. Zach,

    I have nothing but admiration for you and your cause. I wish you the safest of travels and pray that God's army of angels will surround and protect you on your entire journey. I wish you much success in your efforts to raise money and awareness to this very worthy cause.

    Go bless you.

  30. Wishing you blessings with every step, Zach. You are truly an "Earth Angel!"

  31. Hi Zach - your friends in the Las Virgenes School District in California are keeping an eye on your amazing journey. You are an inspiration, and I hope that every mile brings you new eye-opening experiences and underscores how much power that a simple act of compassion can carry.

    Go, Zach, go - and we'll be waiting to welcome you here on the west coast!!!

  32. Zach;

    Your outlook on being paid to walk versus walking for a cause is so on target. To walk for money - there'd never be enough money. To walk for a cause - you can never stop. You're proof of that! You are on the right course.

  33. Dear Zach,

    We were checking on you. We learned about you from our guidance counselor at Paris Elementary School in Greenville, SC. We wish you the best of luck! Happy walking!

  34. Hi Zach!

    Hope your Texas walk is going well today.

    I want to create some events with you for when you get to California. Do you know when you expect to arrive and what has already been planned?

    Thanks!

  35. I drove up and down that highway for the past few days and still haven't seen you? what gives

  36. Zach's going to cross into another state (Louisiana) on his March Across America. If you can help support him - now's a great time to do so.

    Great going, Zach!

  37. Suprised to hear you have already worn out a pair of shoes. But, after 200 miles, I gess that is to be expected.

    I am really looking forward to hearing about your projects in Monroe, yesterday.

    I also miss the pictures. But, I realize that is not your main purpose for the walk.

  38. Zach-

    I just heard about your adventure and think you are a wonderful boy with a BIG heart. You remind me of my 9yr old son Skylar who see's the world alot like you do. I just submitted Skylar to play you in your upcoming movie Little Red Wagon. Skylar has the same features as you do but most importantly has the same BIG heart as you do. Skylar and I will track you everyday to see where you are at. Keep you the good work!

  39. Zach;

    You've conquered another state. Great going! You are clicking along. We hope Mississippi is good to you and your family.

  40. It's great to be following you again Zach. You have made, and cotinue to make, a difference in so many lives around the world. Seems like it was just yeasterday that you were walking to DC. Hard to believe that you are crossing the entire country!

    As I have often said... "Go Zach Go." And as you walk... know how many of us are waliking with you in spirit.

    Blessings,

    Steve and Nancie Case

  41. Zach,

    Please don't think you are talking to yourself. It has taken me a little bit to figure this out. But, I have been "following" you since you left Lazy Days.

    I, too, was surprised about the dog. So glad, you weren't seriously hurt!

    I am sure you will find plenty to do when you get to Jackson, MS. People to meet, sights to see etc. Enjoy your day off.

  42. Let's show Zach that we are following him and support his cause. Pledge to make a donation for every state he walks through. Small or large - we can do it.

    Love your new pictures Zach.

  43. Love reading your blogs and keeping

    up with you.... sorry about the fall...

    you need a good Lab that would

    keep you company and be able to

    walk that far.

    Super great of your Mom to help George..... but, that is definitely like

    her... thinking of you.

  44. Zach;

    Have no worry, you are not talking to yourself. Your dog story made me smile (all except the chin slide you did). On Saturday we hiked a mountain in VA and Sun (and today) my legs are really sore - and I don't have to walk 13 miles or so like you do. I hope Sunday was a good rest day for you. Good luck finding a place to stay this week. We look forward to seeing some pictures of the last few days. On to Jackson. You're doing Great!

  45. SAY THANK YOU TOO MOM AND DAD FOR WHAT THEY DO FOR

  46. Zach, we own 12 dogs, and I think if you had a super laid back puppy it could be fun, but I would recommend that you leave the pup in the RV while you eat out or do talks. I have done dog rescue for fifteen years and puppies need routine. Too much chaos and they are freaked out. Email me any time you want. I can give ALOT of advice about your dog predicament or have your mom email me with questions- I can even help you with a breed that would be suitable for this trip. :) Anne

  47. Zach- You hear all the time how amazing you are and that is true. Give your mom a huge hug- she is a hero too, for helping you do this. :) I used to teach and I am following you and hoping that you get through to the people in big places that make the big decisions that affect the little kids in this country. Anne

  48. dear zach i coach boxing for youth in denver co.and in daily life i see alot of homless kids andteens. denver has a major issue of homlees kids that are not being served by homlees rescue organisations.if your walk brings you to denver co i want to sponser your family for dinner while your here.i know what it feels like to be a homless kid. as i was homless for 5months when i was not yet 12yo.

  49. I would like to help out if/when you come through the Dallas/Forth Worth area. I can cook your family a great meal, do your laundry, whatever y'all need done. My daughter is active in the Fort Worth area's Homeless Church, “Under The Tree” and I crochet hats for her to give out. I love your mission to help others in need and would be so happy to help in any way that I can......Keep on walking!!!!

  50. Zach,

    I am sure you've been told this a hundred times but you are an amazing young man. You have a bigger heart than anyone could ever expect out of a youth like yourself. An inspiration in a world where its becomming harder to find it. Keep the work going your faith strong and may you always have a good comforting wind at your back.

  51. Zach;

    We hope you have a great kickoff to the next part of your walk. Good Luck!

  52. Zach it has been a honor working with you the past few year for your GPS TRACKING needs. You are a great assit to this world and hope you continue you journey for years to come. We look forward to help you track your journey for years to come.

    We are glad that you are helping the homeless. We learned about you during our guidance lesson on the lifeskill "Initiative". We were wondering how many days it will take you to walk across the country? We are glad you are such a helpful person.

    Sincerely,

  73. Yes thanks for clarifying your puppy plans. Its sounds like you have it pretty well planned out. We should have known you would! Take Care.

  74. Zach;

    Thanks for the explanation of your idea of training a puppy as a service dog. I assume Paws with a Cause will help with the selection and training methods so your brother and you can get the puppy going towards its mission. That takes care of most of the walking concerns. Now it's a matter of commitment of time and energy to the training. Good luck in your decision.

    I hope the weather warms a bit for your last 3 days of this session but it seems we are all pretty cold through the weekend. Walk tall :-)

  75. Re: Puppy- I know it’s hard to deny yourself something you want and something you know you can handle. Wouldn’t be better to have one when you know you can focus all your time and attention on him/her? But if anyone deserves one its you.

  76. Zach;

    I think you should consider the concerns your Mom has. Puppies "just want to have fun" and it's a restriction to how/when/where you walk. I bet you'd have your hands full keeping the pup on Zach's Track. You might need to add 2 miles to each day's walk. ;-) The other "housing" and "feeding" concerns might be for real, too. (I'm picturing the puppy on the scary bridge and in the mud - Yikes!

  77. Hi Zach I think you should get a pup it would be really cool :D then you would have alot of more fun walking because you would have a pup XD.Maybe you should try a animal shelter place they usually have really cheap puppys unlike other places.Oh and are you going to come walk to Dallas Georgia or Atlanta Georgia?

    bye
